Privacy Policy — Pokerbase AI

This policy covers the Pokerbase AI mobile app for iOS and Android, published by Pokerbase AI.
The short version
- You can use the app without an account until your free questions run out.
- We do not use any analytics, advertising, attribution, or crash-reporting SDK. We do not track you across apps or websites, and we do not show you the App Tracking Transparency prompt because we have nothing to ask for.
- After you give permission, content you choose to submit may be sent through our backend to OpenAI. Our backend discards uploaded voice recordings and images after processing.
- You can delete your account and everything attached to it from inside the app.
AI data sharing and your consent
After obtaining your permission, Pokerbase AI may send the following through its backend to OpenAI:
- the question you submit;
- recent conversation context;
- your poker coaching preferences;
- voice recordings you choose to record; and
- images you choose to attach.
This data is used to provide coaching responses and explanations, transcribe voice recordings, and extract text from screenshots and other images.
Before any of this content is first sent to OpenAI, the app identifies OpenAI, lists the data that may be sent, explains why it is sent, and requires you to select “Allow and continue”. If you select “Not now”, nothing is sent to OpenAI.
You can review or withdraw permission under Settings → AI data sharing. After you withdraw permission, no new content is sent to OpenAI unless you grant permission again.
What we collect
Account information
If you sign in, we store the identity your sign-in method gives us: your email address for an email link, or the account identifier and email supplied by Google or Apple. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, we only ever receive Apple's private relay address.
Authentication is handled by Supabase. We never receive or store a password for Google or Apple sign-in, and email sign-in uses a one-time link rather than a password.
You do not need an account to try the app.
An installation identifier
The app creates a random installation identifier the first time it launches. It is not an advertising identifier or hardware identifier, and it is not derived from either. We use it for two things: counting your free questions before you sign in, and identifying your subscription to RevenueCat.
On iOS, the identifier is stored in Keychain and may survive deletion and reinstallation of the app. On Android, uninstalling the app normally removes it.
Your conversations with the coach
Questions you ask, hands you describe, and the coach's replies are stored on your device.
If you are signed in, a reduced copy also syncs to our servers so your history follows you to a new device. That copy keeps message text and the details the history list needs, and drops most of the internal solver data. It is stored in a database row that only your own account can read.
If you are not signed in, none of it leaves your device except the individual question you send to get an answer.
Voice notes
If you use the microphone button, the app records audio only while you are actively recording. With your AI data-sharing permission, the recording is uploaded through our backend to OpenAI for transcription, and the transcribed text is returned to the app as an ordinary message.
Pokerbase AI's backend does not persist the audio. It discards the recording after processing. Only the resulting text persists, in the same way a message you typed would.
Screenshots and images
If you attach a screenshot or other image, with your AI data-sharing permission it is uploaded through our backend to OpenAI to extract text from it — typically a hand history or table state. The extracted text is returned to the app.
Pokerbase AI's backend does not persist the image. It discards the image after processing; only the extracted text persists.
The app asks for photo library access only at the moment you choose to attach an image, and asks for microphone access only when you first record a voice note. Declining either leaves the rest of the app fully usable.
Subscription and purchase information
Subscriptions are sold through the Apple App Store and Google Play and managed with RevenueCat. Payment is handled entirely by the store.
We never see your card number, billing address, or any payment credential. We receive only whether an entitlement is active, which product it corresponds to, which store it came from, and when it last changed.
Usage counters
We keep a small server-side record of how many free questions and solves an installation or account has used, and its current subscription state. This is what makes the free tier mean anything. The record contains counters and billing status only — no message content — and its filename is a one-way hash of the account or installation identifier.
Technical information
Our servers see the IP address that requests arrive from. It is used to apply rate limits and to stop abuse. We do not build a profile from it or combine it with your account for any other purpose.
Notifications
Scheduled reminders are created and fired locally on your device. The app does not register for remote push notifications and no notification token is sent to us.
What we do not collect
- No advertising or attribution SDKs, and no advertising identifier (IDFA/AAID).
- No analytics or product-telemetry SDK.
- No third-party crash or performance reporting.
- No location data, contacts, calendar, health data, or browsing history.
- Nothing at all is used to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising. We use these processors because the app cannot function without them:

OpenAI API data is not used to train OpenAI models by default. Where applicable, chat and image content may be retained by OpenAI for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring. Pokerbase AI's own backend does not persist uploaded voice recordings or images; it discards them after processing.
We require service providers that process personal data on our behalf to protect it to the same or an equivalent standard described in this policy and required by applicable law.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to investigate abuse of the service.

Deleting your account
You can delete your account from inside the app, under Settings → Delete Account. No email to us is required.
Deleting removes your synced history, revokes and deletes every share link you created, deletes your authentication record, and clears your usage and subscription counters. It takes effect immediately and cannot be undone.
Anything stored only on your device is removed by deleting the app.
Note that your subscription is managed by the App Store or Google Play, not by us. Deleting your account does not cancel it — cancel through your store account, or you will continue to be billed. See the support page for instructions.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal data we hold, to object to or restrict processing, and to complain to your local data protection authority.
The in-app deletion above satisfies most such requests immediately. For anything else, write to support@pokerbase-ai.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect or who we share it with, we will update this page and move the date at the top. Material changes will also be surfaced in the app.
